About the Role
The North America headquarters in beautiful Irvine, California, is seeking a Quality Associate or Quality Manager. We are looking for an eager individual that likes the excitement of a growing business in the wireless industry. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise and experience in the mobile industry. Focusing on Design Concept through Commercial Launch, EWP, and Field Return Rate to End-of-Life; plans, conducts, and manages quality activities related to product quality.

Knowledge and Abilities

Quality Associate Role (scroll below for QM Description)
The Quality Associate role is an opportunity to learn and grow into a Quality Manager Role.

--- Learn and understand the product quality specifications and requirements for North America Carriers.
--- Help the Quality Managers to prepare and manage IUT/FUT, pre-FAI, FAI, EWP, and other Quality deliverables.
--- Act as a representative of the quality team towards customers and internal teams (CTS and project teams)
--- Participate in all DR (Decision Reviews) through project lifecycle as quality representative; Design Concept to End of Life.
--- Assist the Quality Managers with all product quality-related topics.
--- Learn the internal processes and procedures related to product quality.
--- Help prepare reports communicating involvement and outcomes of quality activities
--- Assure quality requirements and standards for the development of new products are applied.
--- Work with the Quality Managers to help review RCA and EWP analysis received from R&D.
--- Provide and review EWP reports with customers and manage all action items to closure
--- Assist in driving root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D report generation for all customer quality issues.
--- Communicate and work closely with Customer Care and Reverse Logistics on-field return data.
--- Review lessons learned to assure they are integrated into new projects' NPI activities.
--- Perform all other duties as required related to the position


Quality Manager Role


  • Manage product quality specifications and requirements for North America.
  • Prepare and manage pre-FAI, FAI, and all other product-related inspections.
  • Act as a representative of the quality team towards customers and internal teams (CTS and project teams)
  • Participate in all DR (Decision Reviews) through project lifecycle as quality representative; Design Concept to End of Life.
  • Be the main point of contact for all product-quality-related topics.
  • Maintain and improve internal processes and procedures related to product quality.
  • Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provide recommended design changes or process improvements to management.
  • Prepare reports to communicate involvement and outcomes of quality activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply quality requirements and standards for the development of new products.
  • Work closely with production to design, implement, and improve methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection before product launch to mitigate mass production risks.
  • Organize, Define, Manage and Execute EWP activities for all NA Carriers.
  • Provide and review EWP reports with customers and manage all action items to closure.
  • Work closely with reverse logistics on; field return data, RCA/CAP.
  • Drive local FLFA, root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D report generation for all customer quality issues. Communicate preliminary findings and 8D report to customer for agreed closure.
  • Communicate and work closely with CC and reverse logistics on-field return data.
  • Ensure lessons learned are integrated into new projects' NPI activities.
  • Assist with mentoring and training other NA quality team members as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as required related to the position.

    Additional Information

    Compensation
    Will be based on experience and qualifications. ( $45,000 - $85,000/year)

      Experience/Qualifications:

      Note: There is one open position. Applicants will be evaluated based on the experience and qualifications listed below to determine if better suited for the Quality Manager OR Quality Associate.

      Quality Manager Requirements

      • 3-5 -years minimum Product quality experience in the mobile industry - directly managing and working with Tier 1 carriers.
      • ATT Wireless experience is preferred but not required.
      • Knowledge and experience with the development lifecycle and certification process for mobile devices
      • Knowledge of the theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
      • Knowledge of inspection control methods
      • An understanding of the manufacturing environment
      • Knowledge of quality systems and the ability to apply that knowledge to customer requirements.
      • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
      • Strong computer skills including Excel, PPT, Word, and QA Software applications
      • Demonstrated leadership skills and management experience.
      • Must be ambitious, autonomous, self-motivated, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and integrity.
      • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%) after COVID-19.

        Quality Associate Requirements

        • 1-year minimum Product quality experience in the mobile industry - preferably working with Teir1 Carrier's (ATT, T Mobile, Verizon)
        • Willingness to train and learn the roles and responsibilities of the Quality Manager.
        • Knowledge and experience with the development lifecycle and certification process for mobile devices
        • Knowledge of the theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control
        • Knowledge of inspection control methods
        • An understanding of the manufacturing environment
        • Knowledge of quality systems and the ability to apply that knowledge to customer requirements
        • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
        • Strong computer skills including Excel, PPT, Word, and QA Software applications
        • Must be ambitious, autonomous, self-motivated, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and integrity
        • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%) after COVID-19
