Job Description:
Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is
composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In
April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber
manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a
prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi
Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we
re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple
acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these
acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current
facility's capabilities. We are a company with a dedicated focus on
responsiveness, quality, and customer support, we are working hard
to match the growing global and domestic demand for these advanced
materials.Job PurposeThe Accounting Assistant Manager position is
responsible for serving as a team leader in the accounting
department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely
financial records for the organization utilizing extensive
experience in journal entries, general ledger and preparation of
complex reconciliations. Is responsible for applying accounting
principles and procedures to analyze financial information,
preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements and
ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. Works
effectively with cross functional teams to support organizational
strategic goals including strategy development, financial analyses,
research, reporting, budget development and ERP system
implementation by performing the following duties personally or
through subordinates.Principal Accountabilities* Record or review
journal entries to account for business activities, ensures
completeness, accuracy and compliance with generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP)* Reconcile general ledger accounts,
ensure the accounts balance to underlying support and investigate
and resolve any reconciling items* Oversee and approve Accounts
Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions* Assist with month-end
financial close process, including analysis, reconciliations, and
accruals* Maintain and organize prepaid business insurance by
handling expense amortization, accruals and reversals* Work with
multiple divisions, interdivision reconciliations and
consolidations* Oversee credit management/collections and ensure
adherence to credit policy* Maintain fixed assets including
approvals, follow up, capitalization, depreciation, physical
inventory, disposal* Participates in physical inventory* Prepare
and file property tax returns* Assist in gathering data for
business insurance renewals (e.g., property, liability, auto,
credit)* Develop and update procedures for proper internal control
and maintain proper records* Compile and analyze financial
information to prepare financial statements, various reports and
schedules* Participate in audits (external and internal) and tax
returns* Assist in budget preparation* Respond to requests from
leadership and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed*
Utilize enterprise resource planning software* Take an active
approach to streamline manual processes, identify efficiencies, and
improve accounting policies* Oversee accounting department team.

bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (B.A. or B.S.) from a
four-year College or University, 5 to 10 years, or an equivalent
combination of experience and training. Multiple years of
accounting experience in manufacturing industry
required.Specialized Knowledge/skills/abilities for performance of
job* Manufacturing industry knowledge.* Intermediate to Advanced
skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point is
required.* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.*
Knowledge of auditing practices and principles, knowledge of
applicable laws, codes and regulations.* Excellent communication
skills.* Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.* Ability to
work independently.--Ability to research and determine solutions to
inquiries.* Ability to maintain confidentiality.* High stress
tolerance.* Must be able and willing to work overtime as needed.*
Experience with Business/ERP (Sage X3) system software is
preferred.* Multi-lingual skills in Japanese and /or Spanish are a
plus.Working ConditionsThe employee works mainly in a normal office
environment, but occasionally while performing the duties of this
job, the employee may periodically go into the laboratory and/or
factory and be around analytical instruments and industrial
equipment that compounds and processes hot melt resin systems and
adhesive formulations (resins, liquids, solids, powders, etc) and
these will be coated onto fibers and/or fiber webs.--The employee
at times may be required to wear a variety of Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) such as protective eyewear, hard hat, dust mask,
and/or plastic gloves to minimize exposure to any industrial or
chemical hazards.--The employee may be occasionally exposed to
temperatures above 90 degrees F and below 5 degrees F and noise
levels up to 85 decibels.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands
