To learn more about us, please visit: www.masimo.com Job Summary The Vice President,--Product Assurance is responsible for leading the product quality assurance efforts. This includes setting corporate product quality goals, managing and improving all aspects of product quality. Strong leadership and team building skills are required to manage the Product Assurance team to ensure product quality goals are met, from early design through high-volume production and post-market assessment. Through involvement with product design and helping to ensure appropriate product testing in design, thorough evaluation of returned products to determine root cause from the field and assessment of trends, this manager will identify issues and working collaboratively within the organization to address deficiencies and identify areas for improvement and assist in the planning for improvements in future product designs. Proven experience with electronic or electro-mechanical device design and manufacture, measurement and management techniques, analysis of product and process failures, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all aspects of the Company's product and manufacturing quality system for the areas of responsibility are implemented and maintained;
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and quality system;
  • Investigate, contain, identify root cause, implement solutions, and verify the implementation of solutions to product and process quality problems;
  • Manage the product Failure Analysis process from customer returns through final report;
  • Recruit and develop the Company's product assurance talent;
  • Direct, plan, delegate and manage department budget and staff including:
  • Write and conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions plans
  • Make salary decisions (pay increases or new hire offers)
  • Create training and employee development plans
  • Handle all departmental employee relations issues
  • Up to 20% Domestic and International Travel;
  • Perform special projects and other tasks as assigned;
    -- Minimum Qualifications:
    • 5 years of management experience in product testing/investigation and Quality related activities;
    • Experienced in Quality System Regulations and ISO-13485, CMDR, and MDD (EU) requirements;
    • Experience in electronic proto-type and production manufacturing of high-reliability electronic products and applicable industry standards, such as IPC-610 or equivalent;
    • Experience in state-of-the art in manufacturing disciplines including but not limited to DfM (Design for Manufacturing,) DfT (Design for Test,) and DfE (Design for Environment.);
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interface effectively with engineering, manufacturing, sales and marketing, and administration;
    • Good conceptual, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills, including demonstrated prior accomplishments;
    • A "hands-on" individual who enjoys challenge, is capable and dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction;
    • An assertive, take-charge, proven manager with a strong results orientation, positive "can do" attitude, and a sense of urgency to get things done;
    • Flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment;
    • A mature thinking and acting professional with good common sense and judgment, and a broad business perspective;
    • Outstanding team management and administrative capabilities to build, motivate and manage a strong quality organization;
    • Well-organized and accustomed to maintaining excellent records;
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally about 20% of the time;
      -- Preferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with ISO-14971;
      • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar advanced quality systems management experience;
        -- Education:
        • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline is required.MBA, technical Master's degree, or equivalent professional education or certifications in quality and/or manufacturing disciplines is preferred. Physical requirements/Work Environment
          This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Domestic and International travel up to 20% of the time is required. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license is required.-- The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
