Position Summary:

The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine offers three dynamic MBA programs plus PhD, specialty masters and undergraduate business degrees that prepare business leaders for our digitally driven world. Through our programs, students acquire the exceptional ability to grow their organizations through strategic innovation, analytical decision-making, digital information technology and collaborative execution. While the Merage School is relatively young, it has quickly grown to rank consistently among the top five percent of all business programs worldwide through exceptional student recruitment, world-class faculty, a strong alumni network and close relationships with both individual business executives and global corporations. The Merage School Career Center (MSCC) provides career management services for students within the school's undergraduate, specialty masters and MBA programs. Designed around a holistic approach to career design and job search strategies, the MSCC provides a modern mix of career insights, personalized and group coaching, career management resources and business/alumni connections for students to cultivate and build a purposeful and rewarding career upon graduation and beyond.

The Associate Director of FEMBA Career Services develops and delivers comprehensive, career management training and career coaching programs that provide expert guidance and empowerment necessary to assist the 400+ Fully Employed MBA students in attaining their professional career goals. The Associate Director develops and implements goals, objectives and strategies relating to career training and coaching programs; delivers career management workshops; develops and implements career awareness programming with corporate and alumni speakers; develops materials and resources necessary to support career development; partners with the Employer Relations team on the referral of candidates for job openings; manages multifaceted relationships with staff, faculty, alumni, and students; and provides career coaching to individuals and groups.



Compensation Range:

$50,600 - $77,100

Required:

3 5 years of career coaching/career education or human resources work experience.

Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Strong knowledge of career development theories, adult development theory, counseling process, career coaching techniques, career decision making, learning styles, and job search techniques. Ability to design and modify computer applications to meet program needs, problem identification, presentation skills, verbal communication, written communication, and organization skills. Ability to work with people from diverse cultures. Strong understanding of MBA career paths and management level career issues. Thorough knowledge of needs assessment theory, processes, and practice; workshop and program design. Knowledge of UC programs, career services, employer, alumni, and faculty needs and expectations, recruiting and staffing methods, and employment trends. Skills in organizing work, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments and following through on all projects independently.



Special Conditions Preferred:

Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed to support Center operational needs.
