POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Management Director will drive the optimization of 5.11---s $100M inventory investment to meet and exceed financial objectives and deliver the best consumer experience across all channels. The 5.11 Inventory Management team sits at the intersection of Product, Channel Sales, Marketing, Sourcing& Finance teams. The ability to effectively lead, influence& communicate across these teams throughout the go-to-market process to achieve the optimal brand results is paramount to this leadership role. The successful candidate will also forge relationships with the sourcing team to partner on postponement, VMI, near-shore and other sourcing strategies that will further enable 5.11---s quick response to demand changes. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide inspirational leadership and direction to direct reports and broader IM team to ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization Lead the development and delivery of all supply chain planning processes, including: 1) top-down pre-season merchandise assortment planning, 2) in-season open-to-buy planning for our fast-growing Retail and eCommerce consumer business, 3) in-season collaborative demand planning with sales and customers for our Consumer Wholesale channel as well as our Public Safety dealer network, and 4) supply chain production planning Synthesize all planning inputs, along with supply chain variables such as forecast accuracy, target fill rates, safety stock, lead-times and lead-time variability to optimize fill rates across channels and product categories to communicate& execute inventory plans. Cultivate strong and transparent working relationships across the organization Lead and deliver S&OP [Sales& Operations Planning] process, metrics& decision-making framework to the organization Partner with Sales, Product& Marketing teams to proactively share product constraints& inventory excesses to lead the collaboration and problem-solving that optimizes sales and margin, inside lead-time. Align all Inventory Management activities around maintaining and optimizing the balance between ideal inventory levels, fill rates& cash conversion that meet or exceed financial targets Deliver analytics and insights that drive optimal product lifecycle& markdown decisions and processes Set and manage to obsolete inventory targets in coordination with Finance, Sales& Product team leadership Lead operational and cross-functional continuous improvement process, understanding upstream and downstream impacts to continually optimize processes and RASCI to drive transparency& efficiency Manage& maintain ISO Quality certification Drive Master Data structure that enables systems and teams to manage channels and products in multiple ways that optimize inventory levels and fill rates QUALIFICATIONS: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following credentials: 8 years of successful leadership experience in planning, S&OP, continuous improvement and supply chain planning and execution functions Significant experience with inventory optimization, balancing cash conversion with fill rate targets through superior planning, analysis& execution Experience in Retail Open-to-Buy planning, Wholesale Collaborative Demand Planning (CPFR), Merchandise Financial Assortment Planning, as well as Supply& Production Planning required. Demonstrated ability to synthesize these multiple streams of signals to optimize monthly inventory buys and production plans. Proven ability to lead execution in a complex, SKU-intensive, multi-channel, multi-category branded business. Problem-solving orientation with ability to define cross-functional processes and systems requirements to drive efficiency, clarity& accuracy. Driven by desire to deliver best brand experience to our consumers across all channels. Experience in leading, managing, developing and motivating teams Cross-functional collaboration& strong leadership skills Very strong communication skills. Ability to articulate complex concepts in simple terms to engage cross-functional partners on decisions, priorities and action plans Self-starter, able to navigate ambiguity& provide direction and structure to a team and cross-functional partners.
