Major Duties

Position Summary:
Provide leadership and management of the quality function in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met at the facility. Key to success in this role is a proactive approach toward quality and a high expectation that you ll act quickly and effectively addressing customer issues. You will make sure that the customer receives timely, accurate and complete answers to their requests as you act as the voice of Parker.
The candidate is responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders while supporting improvements that effect current customer ratings in the Quality organization. Interfaces routinely with all plant functions (engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing), customers and suppliers. Has management responsibilities for the quality department, and reports to the Division Quality Manager and Business Unit Manager(s). At the discretion of the division this position may include supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

Assure quality requirements are adequately defined at all functional levels to permit appropriate quality planning and verification of compliance on final assembly line products/systems.
Coordinate TQM efforts across business units.
Identify, develop and implement new methods of quality management and systems, and audit existing systems to meet division initiatives, ISO9000, and other customer requirements.
Provide quality-oriented leadership in achieving facility quality objectives.
Interfaces with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive responses and technical assistance regarding quality systems and/or products.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance activities for all purchased material, equipment, parts, and processing. Manage supplier quality audits and corrective action plans. Integrate and monitor supplier quality performance with divisional objectives.
Utilize automated systems where available to proactively plan, implement and track quality systems processes and reports metrics accordingly. (Excel, PowerPoint & Solumina)
Maintain the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function that would typically be obtained through a bachelor s degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area.
Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning, problem solving ability and team organizational skills.
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
Travel expectation is 15% to Renton and 5% out of state.
