Job Description:

Sprout Mortgage seeks to hire a VP of Closing in our Irvine, California office. Sprout Mortgage offers products designed to appeal to a broad range of homebuyers with affordable programs; each program is designed to serve an important demographic. Whether its wealthy retirees, persons with recent credit problems, upwardly mobile professionals with limited savings, real estate investors, or even foreign investors; Sprout has a loan program borrowers can afford.Responsibilities:Monitor daily closing reports and ensure company policies and procedures are being followed by the closers. -Handle Closing Escalations.Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise in the day to day with regard to loans in closing.Monitor quality control of the closing department.Leading a team of Closers, while performing closings for all mortgage loan channels (Wholesale, Correspondent Lending, and Retail).Review Power of Attorney documentation.Review Entity/Corporation Documents to ensure vesting is completed properly.Reviewing signed closing packages and ensuring packages are accurate and compliant, which include; itemized credits, fees listed.Documenting clear and accurate status notes to the closing team members, borrower, and settlement agent, along with TRID and disclosure updates for compliance.Partnering with internal Ops teams including Underwriting and Funding to streamline and guide funding authorizations to Title and Escrow agents. -Ensuring loans are prepped and ready for funding, in compliance and meet SLA's.Ensure the department adheres to all required People Service performance evaluations.Provide employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback.Create, document and train closing business process/checklist/procedures either solely or as part of the larger project management team as a closing subject matter expert.Additional related duties may be assigned, as required.Requirements:Experience closing loans vested in LLCs & Corporations.Experience closing loans vested in Trusts.Experience with Commercial/Tenant Occupied - Investment Homes.5 years experience with Ellie Mae DocsMust bring current and a minimum of 5 years of current Closing experience, with 3 years in a managerial position.Possess a detailed understanding of all origination loan documents; Closing and legal documents; Disclosure documents and related timing; credit documents; insurance documents; MDIA and APR rules; and TILA, RESPA, LE, CD.Experience with Encompass is a must.Ability to review loan docs with accuracy and attention to detail, recognizing inconsistencies in loan file documents, while managing multiple priorities to assist the team in meeting all deadlines and closing dates.Solid and detailed knowledge from a blend origination loan experiences ideally including Non-QM loans.
