& Composites \n Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites
(MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are
two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon
fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and
Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create
Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in
2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made
multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to
these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our
current facility's capabilities. We are a company with a dedicated
focus on responsiveness, quality, and customer support, we are
working hard to match the growing global and domestic demand for
these advanced materials. Job Purpose Responsible for the
maintenance and repairs of various machines, electrical/mechanical
equipment, and facility electrical as needed. Additional
responsibilities include troubleshooting/ repairing electrical
requirements of projects, engineering upgrades and modification to
the production process. May be required to assist and perform
mechanical work. Functions as a mentor to Junior Electrician and
helper Electrician training. These duties may be amended at any
time by management to reflect changing business conditions and
requirement at MCCFC. Principal Accountabilities Maintain
compliance with all company policies and procedures. Is a champion
for safety and demonstrates and coaches' unsafe
practices/behaviors. Maintains a safe and clean work environment
for all employees. Maintains compliance with all company policies
and procedures. Organizes and coordinates activities within the
maintenance department to meet or exceed company and headquarters
goals and objectives. Maintains operation of machinery,
electrical/mechanical equipment, and facility electrical
infrastructure. This includes equipment such as A/C systems,
chillers, refrigeration, and DC motors of 20hp and possibly larger.
Makes repair / recommendations as needed to optimize budget,
performance, and economical factors. Troubleshoots and repairs
manufacturing equipment such as motors, transformers, generators,
and electronic controllers. Installs new electrical equipment and
components as needed. Follows diagrams, sketches, manuals,
manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications as
necessary. Removes, fixes, and installs circuit breakers, fuses,
switches, electrical and electronic components, and/or wire. Works
with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery
installation, repair, and maintenance workers as needed. Possesses
working knowledge of 110v, 220v and 440v circuits, AC/DC voltage,
and electrical/mechanical equipment. Engages in preventive
maintenance activities with equipment and facility. This includes
inspecting equipment, identifying problems, and correcting faults
before breakdowns occur. Provides training to Junior Electrician
and helper Electrician. Functions as a mentor to impart knowledge
for diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of facility electrical
equipment and systems. Advises management of any potential hazards
involving the facility or equipment. Recommends corrective action.
Utilizes hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, knives, and
hacksaws. Also uses power tools and testing equipment such as
oscilloscopes, amp meters, and test lamps. Maintains equipment,
parts, and supplies inventories. Checks stock to determine
inventory level. Anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Places and expedites orders. Maintains repairs and coordinate
calibrated equipment for plant instrumentation. All repairs,
upgrades installed are to maintain permitted condition requirement
(local, state Federal requirements as well as Permits issued by
state agencies such as Fire Department, Air Quality Management
District (AQMD) etc. Maintain Electrical documentation such as
equipment part lists and schematics. Monitor and keep records of
electrical equipment such as Temperature controllers, Motors,
Tension devices, Electrical Heaters and Motor speed drive controls
etc. Exhibits exemplary conduct at all times in dealing with other
Newport employees, and any outside contacts. Contributes to a
healthy, positive, and safe environment. Promotes self as a team
member. Adhere to Cal-OSHA (OSHA) and standard industry safety
rules/regulations Performs hands-on repair of electrical equipment.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the
job. Ability to work over 40 hours, first or second shift or
schedule as dictated by production/maintenance demands. May be
assigned, and be expected to perform to acceptable standards, any
relevant related duties as required by management. \n Knowledge /
Skills / Experience Education: High school diploma or general
education degree (GED). Work Experience: 10 years of related
electrical/maintenance experience, supervisory experience.
Proficient with computers, strong self-starter and able to handle
multiple tasks/projects at one time, good interpersonal and
communication skills. Is a decision maker and knows how to
prioritize workload and employees. Judgement is required in
resolving complex problems based on experience. Industry Knowledge:
Manufacturing environment, industrial electrical skills, knowledge
of safe work practice, subject matter expertise level familiarity
with provisions and applications of the National Electric Code.
Experience with 110v, 220v, 440v circuits and AS/CD voltage. Pay
Transparency (complete highlighted sections) The hourly range for
this position is $35.00- $45.00. Factors such as scope and
responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience,
education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as
well as market and business considerations may influence base pay
offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment
(according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is
granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
