is a unique opportunity for a Distinguished Engineer with a
technical and creative mindset who enjoys solving complex problems
and implementing innovative solutions, who has expertise in the
optimization of product development and design.This position is
within the research and development group exploring new or unmet
clinical needs and related technologies in the Surgical Structural
Heart space. Apply your deep technical knowledge and clinical
experience to drive to help patients. -Key Responsibilities:
- Design complex technical and novel experiments, tests, designs,
and platforms while working on non-standard technical problems with
significant complexity.
- Subject matter expert with technical expertise in design and
development (e.g., CAD, FEA, and Solidworks)
- Deep knowledge and expertise in mechanical design and material
science.
- Develop test methods to assess novel designs and
technology.
- Subject matter expert with technical expertise in CAD, FEA, and
Solidworks
- Evaluate intellectual property, and suppliers for business
development opportunities.
- Drive, evaluate, and influence innovative solutions that
support technical strategies.
- Provide strategic evaluation and guidance on R&D projects
within field of expertise while driving complex design workstreams
(e.g., 1 component of a system or single component system)
- Guide and mentor engineers on new and emerging technologies
(e.g., Science and Technology Symposium, Edwards Faculty)
- Advise/develop clinically relevant test methods to specify
materials/components.
- Influence the technology roadmap for project component or
existing therapy; accurately predict technical project risk and
identify areas of investments for risk mitigation.
- Other incidental duties Required Education & Experience / Basic
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or Scientific field
+ 12 years -of experience OR-Master's degree in engineering or
Scientific field + 11 years of experience OR-Ph.D. in Engineering
or Scientific field + 8 years -of experience of experiencePreferred
Qualifications:
- Medical Device Experience
- Strong proficiency in design (experience in CAD, FEA,
SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong knowledge technical expertise in materials (e.g., NiTi,
materials, tissue, catheters)
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Experience with design and development of a class III medical
device
- Experience with the full R&D product development
lifecycle
- Experience using six sigma blackbelt tools such as DOE and
GR&R Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in the usage of relevant computer software
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including
negotiating and relationship management skills.
- Recognized as an expert in own area within the
organization.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and
concepts relevant to Engineering.
- Advanced problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and
critical thinking skills
- Expert understanding of processes and equipment used in
assigned work.
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to influence
change.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and
Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean
room medical device manufacturing.
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational
levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
- Serves as best practice/quality resource within and outside own
discipline.

this position is $141,000 to $200,000 (highly experienced).The pay
for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g.,
