A Principal Engineering Technician job is available with our client in Irvine, CA. In this role you will be responsible for acting as a leader and mentor to new technicians, by providing technical expertise in problem analysis and solutions utilizing complex instrumentation and software. This will entail performing a wide variety of the most complex technical tasks to support, design, develop, modify and improve equipment, tools, processes, product, procedure and documentation. To be considered for this role, you will have an Associate"s Degree in a related discipline, plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of the work Performed in this facility, US Citizenship is required.

Principal Engineering Technician Job Duties:
* Performs wide variety of the most complex technical tasks to support, design, develop, modify and improve equipment, tools, processes, product, procedure and documentation.
* Provide technical expertise in problem analysis and solutions utilizing complex instrumentation and software.
* Implement test set-ups, perform tests, collects results, and maintain appropriate logs.
* Assists in the development of new/revised product and programs.
* Technical support lead in the development of prototypes.
* Trainer for less skilled technical personnel.
* Develops test specifications and procedures as required.
* Can be expected to lead, direct, organize Technician work.
* Prepares reports, documentation/specifications as required.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
* Associate"s Degree in a related discipline, plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
* Experience of RF communications such as COFDM, WiFi, or LTE would be a strong advantage.
* Experience in debug and test of baseband and RF electronics.
* Practical skills should include miniature surface mount soldering under microscopes.
* Hands-on skills to disassemble and re-assemble complex electronic devices.
* Implement test set-ups, perform tests, collects results, and maintain appropriate logs.
* Moves material within Oracle ERP system once completed with test functions.
