    Responsibilities
    The Engineer II, Product Development will participate in projects of varying scope and complexity across Integra with a focus on neurological access and therapeutic devices. The Engineer II, Product Development will be responsible for the mechanical design and assembly of a project, assisting and leading cross-functional teams through some or all phases of the product development process under the guidance of senior engineering and leadership. - -

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


    • Engineer the design and development of neurological access and neurosurgical devices.
    • Lead certain design activities for new and derivative devices including, but not limited to computer-aided design and simulation, prototyping, 3D printing, fabrication, material selection (polymers and metals), physician interactions, product development, and testing.
    • Assess the usability, safety, and effectiveness of devices through bench and animal testing.
    • Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and neurosurgeons.
    • Prioritize and manage project deliverables from concept to commercial launch.
    • Resolve technical issues by applying theoretical and practical engineering discipline.
    • Perform data analysis using statistical techniques to verify product characteristics.
    • Prepare test protocols and reports, drawings, technical specifications, and change orders.
    • Comply with internal SOPs and Design Control requirements.
    • Take ownership of assignments given by product development leadership.

      Qualifications

      • B.S. required in engineering or scientific discipline with minimum 3 years relevant experience; M.S. with 0-2 years relevant experience in medical device or similar market segment. Mechanical or biomedical engineering preferred. - - -
      • Experience developing medical devices.
      • Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, or imaging skills.
      • Proficiency with CAD software such as Solidworks or Onshape.
      • Experience with fabrication and 3D printing techniques.
      • Proficiency applying dimensioning and tolerancing drafting standards.
      • Hands-on building and testing of prototype designs and engineering builds.
      • Strong understanding of medical device regulations and industry standards.
      • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
      • Proficiency in data analysis software such as Minitab.
      • Proficiency in Risk Management (Use, Design, and Process FMEA)
      • Experience working with process development and operations.
      • Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
      • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
