Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, applicants must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by EAR and ITAR, including U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in our Irvine, CA location.
A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is being sought to develop products for the latest high-tech secure surveillance and broadcast communications systems.
Janteq designs and builds High Definition audio/video digital microwave transmitter and receiver systems for Government Federal Security applications, along with the Broadcast industry.

Experience in many of the following areas is required:

• 
  
• High level of proficiency with solid modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings (Solidworks preferred)
  
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and strong decision-making, organizational skills with initiative. Able to produce quality work with minimal checking or oversight.
  
• Thermal simulation and modeling of passive and active cooling systems.
  
• Take ownership of projects from first discussions through to manufacture.
  
• Strong hands-on skills including ability to operate workshop machine tools
  
• Proven ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs including circuits boards, sensors etc
  
• The candidate must be an excellent communicator, be able to multitask, and work well on collaborative designs as a key member in a small team
  
• Experience of commercial 3D printer setup, use and maintenance
  
• Intimate knowledge of technical standards, manufacturing/fabrication methods, andgovernment/industry standards
  
• Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  
  Salary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
  Combined Salary RangeUSD $129,500.00 - USD $143,700.00 /Yr.
