Job Description:
I am working with the VP of Engineering of a small Start-up
company with 50+ million in series B and a strong revenue stream,
in the transportation space that is distributed all over the US but
based out of San Fran. They are looking to hire their first Dev-Ops
engineer and eventually have this person build and lead a team.
This is a ground floor opportunity and they are looking for someone
who can set up and create CI/CD, pick Automation and Monitoring
tools and someone who has strong Kubernetes.
- You will implement infrastructure automation and provisioning
to configure and deploy cloud based systems in GCP help to build
and operate a cloud native SaaS application with an increasing
number of users, features, business requirements, partners and new
engineers
- You will implement CI/CD pipelines to build, test, package and
deploy artifacts
- You will profile server and service loads and plan for
optimization, future capacity requirements, performance, cost
management, and reliability
- You will ensure all key services and systems implement metrics,
are monitored, and raise appropriate alerts
- You will work with engineering teams to improve the reliability
and resiliency of solutions
- You will monitor our systems and triage incidents to meet
SLOs/SLAs, lead the incident review and root cause analysis and
managing production incidents to resolution
- You will build and own information security operations and
build our monitoring capabilities
- You will write and execute SOPs to ensure all infrastructure
and software are correctly maintained
- You will participate in on-call rotation for critical
systemsWe're looking for experience in:
- Managing cloud native infrastructure and Kubernetes
clusters
- Continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation
tools (such as Github, CircleCI, Jenkins, Terraform, ansible)
- Using and managing observability tools for monitoring,
troubleshooting and resolving issues (such as New Relic, Elastic,
Sentry, or Datadog)
- Collaborative team player that is detail-oriented,
self-directed, with demonstrable leadership, organizational skills
and a strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Leading the implementation of SRE practices in development
teams as well as building, documenting, and coaching of SRE best
practices
- A strong understanding of industry best practices for Site
Reliability Engineering and ops automation
