OverviewBlackstone Consulting LLC, A Rimkus Company, which expands our company's expertise and reach in Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Services is looking for an experienced Structural/Seismic Engineer located in the Woodland Hills, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego or Los Angeles area. - This is a remote work-from-home position. -Blackstone Consulting LLC, is an established nationwide environmental and engineering consulting firm, seeks an individual with qualified structural engineering design, evaluation, and seismic risk experience, to conduct seismic risk assessments, structural consulting, and seismic retrofit design for the commercial real estate industry. This individual would be joining and working with our existing experienced group of engineers, prepared to provided necessary training, and mentoring to create a successful career opportunity for any interested candidate.ResponsibilitiesThe qualified candidate will have requisite structural engineering design, evaluation, risk assessment, and or forensic experienced and be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE). This position provides the opportunity for management of multiple concurrent projects with a minimum of oversight. Our business provides the opportunity to travel with the ability to experience a variety of regions in the United States while assessing buildings of varied age and construction type. -Travel is a mix of local and regional air travel with airline/hotel reward travel benefits rewarded to the employee. The opportunity includes convenient flexibility to work from home, with communications and specific home office costs provided. The position commands exceptional writing, grammatical and verbal communication skills; advanced computer literacy; and the ability to meet deadlines without exception. Our clients expect in-depth technical expertise with active communication, timely response, proactive solutions, and follow-up.Prepare ASTM E2026-16a compliant Seismic Risk Assessments for existing buildingsAbility to communicate the findings of an ASTM E2026-16a compliant Seismic Risk Assessment with clients to discuss and develop solutions for recognized seismic vulnerabilitiesConduct structural condition assessments of existing properties throughout the lower 48 states The projects provide an opportunity to travel to destination locations throughout the US for both work and personal experiencesCandidate will have the opportunity to work with a team to prepare structural engineering design solutions for seismic retrofit, structural rehabilitation and tenant improvement projects, mostly in the western USOn-going and on-boarding training will be provided for candidates that meet the minimum 5 year experienced and PE/SE licensing requirement. Prior Seismic Risk Assessment experienced is very desirable but not requiredQualificationsBachelor's degree in appropriate engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering)Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); or Structural Engineer (SE)Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience, post degree, is mandatoryFamiliarity with seismic design building code provisions, both national and regional building codes, particularly in California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, and WashingtonPrior design experience, particularly with wood frame and concrete structures is desiredIn return for your talent and effort, we offer our full-time employees a competitive benefits package-including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, employer-matching 401(k), a flexible work schedule, and opportunities for advancement.
