aspires to understand and impact population-level social,
biological, and environmental determinants of health and
well-being.
The Program in Public Health, and future school of public health,
is seeking two post-award analysts to support the academic units as
part of a central post-award department.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Post-Award, the incumbents
will support faculty across four different academic departments.
Major duties include the grant management of restricted and
unrestricted funds, contracts and grants budget monitoring,
divisional budgeting, reconciliation of divisional accounts with
accounting ledgers and financial account transfers. Follow program
systems and university standards to assure conformity with UC
accounting policies. Problem-solver, pro-active, and sense of
urgency required to be successful in this role.
The incumbent is responsible the execution and administration of
subcontracts and consultant agreements, submission of timely
technical and financial reports to agency sponsors, award
close-out, expense reconciliation and quarterly reporting to
principal investigators, identification of new funding
opportunities. Incumbent prepares in-house financial reports for
use by the faculty, as directed by Assistant Director. Working
closely with other post-award analysts and department managers.
The duties of this position require frequent interaction with
program officers and sponsors at federal, state and industry
funding agencies as well as counterparts from the UCI Sponsored
Projects, UCI contract and grant accounting office, and various
other UC Campus departments.
Incumbent is responsible for providing specific direction to
faculty and staff to assure compliance with recent revisions to
contract and grant costing principals. This requires knowledge in
agency specific contracts and grants policies; material management
to include purchasing and equipment acquisition principles;
personnel/payroll policies and procedures; gift administration;
recharge principles; research subcontracting concepts; indirect
cost principles; policies and practices related to Uniform
Guidance/UG, FDP, Federal CAS requirements. Understanding of NIH
grants required.
Public Health is proud to provide flexible work schedules to
accommodate and support work-life balance by offering a hybrid work
environment. Post-Award Analysts are only required to be in-office
on Wednesdays. Occasionally, mandatory program/school-wide meetings
or trainings, or occasional events will require all staff to be in
the office on other days of the week. Training in the early weeks
of joining the program may require additional in-office days.
