Eaton's AER Aerospace Group -division is currently seeking a -Government Accounting Specialist. -This position can be based out an Eaton Aerospace facility in Irvine, CA, Davenport, IA or Beachwood, OH. -The expected annual salary range for this role is $88,500.00 - $129,800.00 a year. - -Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.The Government Accounting Specialist will work under the Government Accounting Manager's supervision and will be responsible for developing forward-pricing rates and incurred cost proposals in compliance with applicable government accounting regulations and standards, supporting internal and external DCAA and DCMA audits related to forward-pricing rate and incurred cost proposals, business systems, and CAS and other compliance areas as needed, assisting management with closing gaps through development and implementation of the corrective action plans, and supporting the development and maintenance of the CAS Disclosure Statements. This role may also be responsible for providing compliance training on government accounting-related requirements to other Eaton Aerospace employees and may work on special cross-functional, process improvement and internal compliance assessment projects.What you'll do:

  • Review and maintain established site-level adequate accounting practices, procedures, work instructions, related internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS), US Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other Business Systems requirements.
  • Primarily focus on Eaton's Davenport site's government accounting compliance program and deliverables. Support to other sites and functions may be required as needed. -
  • Under management supervision prepare and support negotiation of the site-level forward-pricing rates and incurred costs claims.
  • Monitor cost allowability and ensure that unallowable costs properly identified, segregated, and removed form claimed costs in the FPR and ICS proposals. -
  • Work closely with accounting and pricing staff to ensure that FPR and ICS proposals and contract proposals utilize current, accurate and complete cost or pricing data.
  • Interface with Government auditors on accounting matters and serve as primary point of contact for DCAA and DCMA audits and inquiry matters; maintain effective records to support Government audits.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of US Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Disclosure Statements and management of related administration requirements.
  • Conduct routine compliance self-assessments as needed. Monitor and report to the Management on internal control gaps and associated corrective action plans.
  • May assist in delivering training programs to assure that company personnel have the job knowledge to fulfill obligations imposed by U.S. Government Contract accounting and business system requirements.Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of government accounting/finance experience within the Aerospace or Defense industry.
    • Demonstrated experience in FAR Part 30 and 31 requirements. -
    • Demonstrated experience with forward pricing bid rate/pricing and ICS proposal development for the sites with manufacturing and Engineering R&D contracts. -
    • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. -Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Irvine, CA, Davenport, IA, or Beachwood, OH facilities will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Fundamental knowledge of CAS 401, 402, 405 and 406.
      • Working knowledge of advanced accounting and ERP systems (SAP and Oracle preferred).Skills:
        • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
        • Ability to work independently within a matrixed organizational structure with a minimal level of supervision.
        • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
        • Proficient level of data analysis and accounting reconciliation skills.
