We are currently looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join one of our clients, a leading manufacturer of analytical instruments and systems. This is a temp-to-permanent role with hybrid work options.As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the financial performance of our client's products and projects, as well as developing and implementing cost accounting policies and procedures. You will also work closely with other departments to identify areas of improvement and optimization.To be successful in this role, you should have:

• 3+ years of cost accounting, general accounting and/ or business finance experience with progressive responsibilities, especially with exposure to international operations and a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics
• Solid knowledge of general and cost accounting principles and practices
• Strong quantitative, analytical and data gathering competency
• SAP FI/CO experience preferred
• Self-starter with good interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow
• Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independentlySome of your main duties will include:
  • Grow financial performance through analysis of financial results, budget, forecasts, variances and trends
  • Create recommendations for improvement and optimization to be presented to management and executives
  • Develop standard unit costs for manufactured goods to include direct materials, labor and overhead
  • Establish cost of business processes such as administration, labor and shipping
  • Perform analysis of product and project costs including material variances and labor efficiencies
  • Identify areas of concern/ opportunity and recommend corrective actions Perform physical inventory count reconciliations
