$66,839 - $91,890 with a rich benefits package that includes
profit-sharing.Job Description SummaryUnder minimal supervision,
performs complex professional accounting duties including the
preparation, analysis, maintenance, reconciliation and verification
of financial reporting, budgeting and tax records; may supervise
the work product of clerical, para-professional and professional
staff involved in accounting and fiscal recordkeeping work and
related duties as required. This position reports to the Vice
President of Finance/Controller.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or
related field preferred.
- Five to seven plus years of related professional experience
preferred, with demonstrated increasing levels of proficiency and
responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of both statutory and generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP) encompassing fundamental theories,
principles, and terminology of accountancy, including financial
statement structure, general ledger accounts and journal entry
coding.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and research proper
accounting treatment under generally accepted accounting principles
(GAAP).
- Extensive knowledge and use of personal computer applications
including MS Office, with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of
Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including
the ability to present clear analyses and discuss issues, and the
capability to express thoughts clearly in both oral and written
communications.
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data
with an ability to draw logical conclusions and recommend effective
solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective
working relationships with others at all levels of the
organization.
- Organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines with proven
expertise in planning, initiating and completing work assignments
timely and with minimal direction.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, accuracy and critical attention
to detail with exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple
tasks in a fast-paced environment.

ResponsibilitiesOperations
- Responsible for the timely preparation or verification of a
variety of complex accounting, statistical, and narrative financial
statements or reports requiring extensive analysis and
interpretation of data, including monthly/quarterly balance sheet
and profit & loss financial statements and board reports.
- Reconciliation of individual complex balance sheet, revenue and
expense general ledger account activity, including intercompany
transactions, and the creation of supporting schedules from primary
and subsidiary ledger systems.
- Analyze, research and recommend appropriate actions for budget
variances or exceptions to expected trends.
- Work directly with Department heads in the annual preparation
and ongoing evaluation, justification, and maintenance of budgets
and budgetary controls.
- Lead quarterly review meetings with department heads and
business unit leaders to review financial results.
- Provide guidance, training and/or direct supervision and review
of the work product of clerical, para-professional and professional
accounting staff in recording financial transactions, performing
reconciliations, and executing other fiscal record-keeping or
analytical work in either subsidiary ledgers or the general
ledger.Administrative
- Recommend and assist in the testing and implementation of new
or revised accounting systems, procedures, and records, including
upgrades to existing Accounting or supporting systems.
- Assist with external or internal audits through direct
interaction with auditors, including the preparation of schedules
and analytical or narrative support documentation for requested
areas under audit.
- In collaboration with business unit colleagues, lead analytical
research efforts on identified projects which could result in an
impact on current or future financial results.
- Prepare state and federal tax or regulatory reporting for
statutory compliance as necessary, which may include property
taxes, or income tax or non-profit tax returns.Other
