Summary The Senior Grant Analyst provides accounting, financial
analysis, and compliance support for government (federal, state,
county) and sponsored program grants/contracts/gifts.
Responsibilities include providing a high level of customer
service, review of expenditures for appropriateness, journal
entries, production of monthly and quarterly analyses,
reconciliation of revenues and expenses to budgets and forecasts,
partnership and accountability with program and non-program
executives, understanding of accounting principles to facilitate
meetings with programs and departments, problem solving, and
provision of proactive financial support and guidance to program
managers. This position also requires the ability to produce ad hoc
reporting by utilizing large data sets, performs analysis for ROI,
lease management, and support of capital planning where
appropriate. The Work Review, process, track, and forecast grants
and departments, as well as analyze expenditures in relation to
requested funds. Review drawdowns and monitor cash flow for
corresponding grants; partner programs and accounting to coordinate
and reconcile grant accounting records. Perform extensive review of
grants expenses to ensure charges to the grant align to donor
budget and stipulated donor regulations. Review donor financial
reports prepared before they are submitted to the donor for
accuracy and ensure compliance with donor approved grant budget and
is reconciled to the financial records. Review and evaluate all
financial records and budget allocations. Ensure compliance with
grant contracts, administrative guidelines, and Federal, State, and
local grant regulations. Ensure all grants revenue are
appropriately captured in the financial records and recovery of
administrative costs are accurately recorded and reported. Develop
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and
external stakeholders and ensure they are accurate, reconciled to
the General ledger and are provided to stakeholders in a timely
manner. Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the
accounting system and procedures. Intermediate to advanced
understanding of accounting principles. Applies principles of
accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial
reports. Perform grant financial analysis in grants spending on a
monthly basis, identifying trends in expenses, and significant
variances to grant budgets and other exceptions. Understanding of
allocation methodologies for direct and indirect allocations. Leads
or participates in various projects including process and/or system
enhancements, rate development, and reporting process efficiencies.
Act as liaison for finance-based grant finance analysts providing
needed support and training. Other duties as assigned. Oversee and
direct all aspects of complex award management activities and
provide oversight to internal customers, including monitoring and
managing accounts, audits, evaluations and reporting. Requirements
What You Bring Education Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business
Administration or related field, or equivalent 6 years of work
experience MBA preferred Experience 5-7 years of intermediate
Accounting or Financial experience Minimum Qualification Financial
or grant management experience in a government, medical health
care, or academic, or non-profit setting. Advanced Excel
spreadsheet skills (to include pivot tables, dsums, vlookups, and
macros) and financial modeling Experienced with the uniform
guidance Proactive collaboration with internal customers and
accounting team. Create actionable reporting for decision making
Advanced understanding of data mining and analysis Ability to
forecast trends, expenses and financial impacts to grants within
requested funds Ability of create and maintain professional working
relationships Ability to educate and ensure understanding of
processes and/or concepts Self-starter with ability to assess
priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualification Masters
Degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with Accounting and
Budgeting Software Working with Projects/Programs and non-program
