SUMMARY In this role you will learn about a wide variety of business, banking and financial topics. This role will require a flexible individual that is comfortable pivoting across multiple business lines throughout the day. This role requires an intellectually curious individual with a strong work ethic and an ability to think outside the box. This role will require tactical work such as scheduling, expenses and presentation development, but it will have a unique, front row seat to strategic decision making at an entrepreneurial financial institution with an ability to learn a high volume of information in a short period of time. This role is anticipated to be a 2-3 year commitment with the opportunity to pursue a senior role in the Sunwest organization or broader family office after their tenure. This role is designed for a highly effective and intelligent individual looking for a fast track in the financial services industry, yet is willing to roll up their sleeves, tackle any business objective and gain on the ground experience across multiple businesses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively execute on a wide variety of strategic and tactical objectives assigned by the Chairman/CEO and President of Sunwest Bank.
  • Provide operational and strategic value to the executive suite across multiple initiatives.
  • Seamlessly manage logistics and strategic coordination of meetings, materials and deliverables across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Prepare both routine and confidential spreadsheets, reports, presentations and other complex documents in Microsoft Office Suite; Research and aggregate/consolidate information into summary reports for leadership.
  • Ghost write industry content for publication, internal company communication and specific marketing material.
  • Reconcile credit card statements and submit expense reports, as well as manage other related budgets and expenses.
  • Perform administrative work responsibly and in a timely manner, exercising considerable independence and sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Adhoc financial modeling and authoring of business plans
  • Evaluation prospective business opportunities including investments in private and public companies
  • Lead internal teams related to niche projects
  • Present to C-Suite Level Management Teams, potential partners, and board of directors
  • Influence and facilitate business leaders to set short and long-term strategy to drive strategic initiatives
  • Report, analyze, and translate data into key insights that drive strategic decision making at the executive level
  • Analyze financial performance results, trends, and opportunities to recommend strategies to increase revenue and profitability
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal accountability, innovative thinking and process improvement day to day
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, and relevant information that advance the dialogue and enable strong business decisions

    • Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP, Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC, Information Security, Bank Protection Act, FACT-Identity Theft, Information Technology and GLBA.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      • Entrepreneurial spirit and intellectual curiosity
      • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required
      • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in finance, banking, investment banking, or private equity
      • Outstanding presentation skills and communication (written and verbal)
      • Highly comfortable with excel modeling and industry analysis
      • Strong independent decision-making ability
      • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills in speaking with different levels of management
      • Ability to analyze large amounts of data
      • Strong understanding of finance and modeling
      • Fluent understanding of P&L dynamics and unit economics
      • Highly organized and process-oriented
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Ability to run point on projects and escalate as necessary
      • Demonstrated ability to coordinate information across multiple business units and build effective business relationships within an organization
