Job Description Summary Specialty Deposit Solutions Relationship Manager is responsible for the acquisition of new, complex commercial deposit clients and the expansion of existing deposit relationships while delivering a high level of customer service to the clients of the Bank; working closely and in cooperation with other HomeStreet Bank departments and services.

This position builds and manages an assigned deposit portfolio and is responsible for growth, maintenance, retention and profitability of these deposit accounts. Cross-sells the bank's products and services in order to enhance and grow the bank's deposit relationship and makes referrals to other departments within the bank. Job Details Primary Functions:

  • Identify client/prospect deposit account needs, create and customize proposals for new and additional business that develops and enhances client relationships
  • Function as primary point of contact for assigned Commercial Banking deposit clients; escalate issues to other areas of the bank as appropriate
  • Maintain regular contact with clients in order to promote client retention
  • Maintain thorough records of our activities with each prospect / client to ensure fluidity of communication with multiple touch points throughout the relationship
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service to both external clients (Commercial Banking) and internal clients-business partners
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy and timeliness of the overall administration and management of assigned relationships
  • Manage the profitability of assigned deposit relationships
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of the Bank's products and services especially with regard to deposit and cash management products and services
  • With the assistance of Commercial Deposit Services, open and maintain deposit accounts (checking/savings/money market/CDs) for Commercial Banking clients in accordance with all banking laws and regulations, including USA Patriot Act, BSA/AML, and in compliance with audit requirements.
  • Work directly with Cash Management to assess client's complex treasury products and services needs and delivering industry specific digital solutions
  • Engages with Commercial Real Estate and Residential Construction teams to leverage a "One Team" approach in acquiring the client's full relationship
  • Sales experience in a salary plus incentive environment
  • Cross-sell the Bank's products and services and ask for referrals from existing clients and other business referral sources
  • Participate in joint calls as appropriate - to develop new business, to provide support and assistance to the Bank's current deposit clients, and to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Under guidance of Team Leader, manages and monitors assigned deposit portfolio, communicating directly with depositors as appropriate
  • Provides advice and counsel to prospects and customers regarding deposits and related matters, representing the Bank's best interests at all times
  • Consistently operates in compliance with banking laws and regulations, established Bank policies and procedures, audit and security policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned by ManagementQualifications:
    • 10 years of senior level knowledge and experience in commercial bank operations, deposit products, complex treasury products / current technology trends, sales, new accounts administration, and client contact/customer service
    • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or other business-related field or relevant education and experience
    • Motivated self-starter with a high level of initiative and demonstrated commitment to facilitating the growth and development of the Bank
    • Ability to work independently (self-starter), set priorities and handle multiple tasks
    • Impeccable personal integrity/judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information and data
    • Positive attitude and team player approach, with excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
    • Must possess excellent communication skills and customer service skills with a high level of professionalism, whether on the phone, in person, or in writing
    • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in an organized manner on multiple projects
    • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be persuasive one-on-one, as well as in a group setting
    • Strong desire to serve and act in the best interest of the client and the bank-effectively managing client relationships
    • Independent thinker who has the desire to work in a fast-paced organization
    • Possess computer skills including knowledge of Word and ExcelMental and Physical Considerations:
      • Able to operate a Personal Computer and view information on a monitor.
      • Must be able to sit for many hours each day.
      • Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing document, reaching and bending.
      • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
      • Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds
      • Ability to speak and understand English and express ideas and have difficult conversation in person and over the telephone
      • Ability to listen and comprehend speech.
      • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, interpret data and information, read, write and organize information in an orderly manner.
      • Ability to travel to markets and sales meetings as appropriate, 25-40%Work Environment:
