Controller

Controller Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will be responsible for the daily management and operation of the accounting functions of the company. Accounting areas of responsibility include general ledger, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, etc. The Controller ensures the timely and accurate monthly closing and the compilation of financial reports. Excellent analytical skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of the company. The Controller will also assist with various HR functions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an import/export environment working with companies in China. The candidate be needs to be proficient in MAS90.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

? Daily posting and reconciliation of receipts, disbursements and bank information including the handling of international wires and bank transfers.

? Preparation of general ledger reconciliations and preparation of journal entries and schedules.

? Responsible for processing of transactions for A/P and A/R.

? Work with CFO and Accounting Personnel in China.

? Maintain fixed assets inventory and depreciation schedules.

? Coordinate the monthly reconciliation of inventory and cost of goods sold.

? Process monthly sales commission.

? Perform account analysis and provide variance explanations for specific Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts

? Assist with budget preparation.

? Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

? Responsible for processing payroll for payroll service.

? Administers company benefits such as health, dental, 401k.

? Maintains all personnel files including I-9?s and W-4?s.

? Manage business insurance ? property, liability, workers compensation, etc.

? Administers Sales and Use Tax requirements.

? Assist with corporate federal and state income tax returns/on-line deposits and assist external accountants as needed.

? Completes special projects as required for the CEO

Requirements:

A degree in accounting preferred or equivalent working experience; minimum of 5 years of full-charge accounting experience; demonstrated analytical skills, accurate and detailed; high degree of PC literacy with Excel and Word as well as payroll and accounting database experience.

? BS/BA with emphasis in accounting.

? Fluent in both English and Mandarin.

? Accounting staff supervision experience.

? Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PC skills.

? Experience with SAP Accounting System a plus.

? Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.

? Must be detail oriented.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and possess strong organizational and computer skills, excellent phone, communication and follow-up skills. This person must be a self-starter and be willing to assume responsibility for projects in a wide-variety of functional disciplines. The candidate must have a strong desire to succeed and is willing to take charge in order to complete projects on time.
